Season Record 16-1 SCORING THE MEET A cross country meet is scored by each team adding up the places of its top 5 finishers. Low score wins. EXAMPLE
A team's 6th and 7th finishers can become pushers but only the 6th and 7th placers can do so. Therefore the highest score a team can receive from any of its top 5 runners is 12. EXAMPLE
10 and 11 are pushers. Earning your varsity letter: Follow the guidelines of the Ridgefield High School Athletic handbook and all team rules. Complete the season and participate in all races where you are eligible and qualify. And Score 15pts. (Freshman 10pts.) in the regular season Finish in the top 5 on the team in a varsity meet score 15pts Finish in the top 7 on the team in a varsity meet score 7.5pts Finish in the top 10 on the team in a varsity meet score 5pts. Finish in the top 15 on the in a varsity meet team score 3pts. Finish in the top 20 on the team in a varsity meet score 1pt. Or Qualify for the post season State Tournament Returning Seniors with 2 JV Cross Country letters. Coaches retain the right to award other varsity letters at their discretion.
